Somerset Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy
Oxygen under pressure!
Our Tank is ASME Certified!
The latest research on hyperbaric oxygen therapy (HBOT) has shown significant promise. Hyperbaric oxygen involves exposing the body to 100% oxygen in a monoplace chamber. The breathable air in our environment consists of ~21% oxygen. In an hyperbaric chamber, a person breaths 100% oxygen, but hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not just breathing oxygen; it's oxygen under pressure. When the body experiences higher barometric pressure, the oxygen diffuses directly into the blood plasma. When having a treatment, the body can defuse up to 2000% more oxygen in the blood. The increased oxygen also creates 8x as many stem cells and turns on 8000 healthy genes. In other words, more oxygen equals more healing! (Note: 3 treatments within 2-3 weeks are needed to see those results).
The human body's tissues require an adequate supply of oxygen to function. When tissues become injured, the requirement increases for the repair to occur. An elevation in blood oxygen temporarily restores normal blood gases and tissue function to promote healing and fight infection. Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is used to treat several medical conditions ranging from anemia, multiple sclerosis to strokes. Studies have also shown that patients can experience a cognition boost while preventing the onset of dementia. People also like it for anti-aging and overall health.
Our chamber has a pressure of up to 3 atmospheres (atm). At this pressure, it is similar to the tension felt by a diver at a depth of 20 meters (66ft). At these depths, healing can occur. Note: Soft chambers on the market can only go to 1.5atm. These depths are not strong enough to get enough change in oxygen uptake and could cause an increase in bacteria instead of a decrease! For this reason, it is imperative you choose a place that can pressurize more than 2 ata.

Hyperbaric oxygen therapy is not just breathing oxygen. It’s breathing oxygen while under pressure. That is the key!

Procedure Details
At Somerset HBOT, one hyperbaric oxygen treatment session lasts 90 minutes. The first 15 minutes start by increasing pressurization (the dive), followed by 60 minutes of therapy at (up to) 3 atm. Afterward, there are another 15 minutes of decreased pressurization (decompression). Recommended protocols call for numerous consecutive treatment sessions. One study has shown more than 8,000 health genes and 8x the stem cells after only three treatments.
Compared to many medical procedures, the side effects of hyperbaric oxygen therapy are very few to none. The client can remedy ear complaints with a few simple techniques. The primary concern of many patients is claustrophobia from being in the chamber for a sustained period. Patients can have peace of mind knowing that our staff will continuously monitor them while the therapy is going on. You can also bring a mask to cover your eyes. The chamber is so peaceful that some people will take a nap.
Cost: $220 a treatment
